My Approach to Integrative Psychotherapy
My name is Ita Dowler, and I have been a practicing psychotherapist for more than 34 years.
My path to becoming a clinical social worker was not a traditional one. I originally earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Photography and began my professional life as a commercial photographer, later transitioning into roles in advertising and print management.
Over time, I felt drawn toward work that focused more directly on supporting people, which ultimately led me to pursue graduate studies in social work.
My approach combines traditional psychotherapy with insights from emerging research in areas such as:
